Storytelling is a way we all connect with each other. Our stories reflect our lives as much as they illuminate how we got to our current place in the world. I love hearing people’s stories and helping them make sense of their journey and decide how they want future chapters to be told. However, we can sometimes find that story-telling begins to dictate who we are and what we are capable of doing or not doing. The story becomes one of rigidity and limitations. While our minds are beautiful, powerful places where we have the capacity to create and thrive, sometimes our minds get stuck in patterns of unhelpful thoughts or beliefs which can lead us away from the story we wanted to tell and the people we wanted to be. As a licensed psychotherapist,  I have the skills and training to help people empower themselves to change their relationship with these thoughts and emotions.

My own story includes growing up in Maryland and attending college in North Carolina, where I studied psychology and had the opportunity to study abroad in Australia for 5 months.  After graduating, I moved to Oregon to pursue my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Southern Oregon University. In 2012, I received my Degree and moved to Utah where I began my career as a licensed psychotherapist. This journey across the US and abroad allowed me to meet many new people of diverse backgrounds. It helped me develop a strong sense of compassion and offered many opportunities to nurture my love for learning about individuals and helping them heal.

I am passionate about helping people navigate their relationship with their thoughts and emotions. I believe that everyone has the capacity to heal and grow, and I am honored to be a part of that process. I have experience with a wide range of issues, including eating disorders, body image and self-esteem concerns, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, relationship issues, and life changes and transitions.

I take an eclectic approach to therapy, which means that I draw from a variety of theoretical frameworks. I believe that no one size fits all, and that the best approach is to tailor treatment to the individual client. Some of the therapeutic modalities that I use include CBT, ACT, and DBT.

When not at work I enjoy spending time out in the mountains with my husband, our son, and our dogs climbing, hiking, and snowboarding. Closer to home, I adore baking and working in the garden or on wood projects.
